- Search for Distinctive Shapes. Keep an eye out for bullet-shaped, conical, or cylindrical objects. They often stand out from the surrounding matrix due to their denser composition.
- Check Weathered Surfaces. Erosion can expose belemnites. Look for them on weathered rock faces, in scree slopes, or along shorelines where marine sediments are exposed.
