2. Surface Characteristics. Genuine Shiva Lingams have a naturally smooth, often polished feel from river tumbling. The patterns are integral to the stone, not superficial. Examine for signs of artificial shaping or coloring.
3. Compositional Clues. While primarily cryptocrystalline quartz, some may exhibit a slightly magnetic response if they contain higher concentrations of iron-rich minerals, though this is not a primary identification method.
