Minas Gerais, Brazil
Renowned for producing some of the finest Lodolite (Garden Quartz) with a wide array of colorful and diverse inclusions, often forming spectacular 'garden' scenes.

Collecting tips
- Look for Clarity. The value of Garden Quartz is often enhanced by the clarity of the quartz host, which allows the inclusions to be seen distinctly. Avoid heavily fractured or cloudy quartz unless the inclusions are exceptionally unique.
- Examine Inclusions. Carefully observe the type, color, and arrangement of the inclusions. The more diverse, colorful, and aesthetically pleasing the 'scene' created by the inclusions, the more desirable the specimen. Look for distinct layers, phantom growths, or miniature landscapes.
- Check for Damage. As with any mineral specimen, inspect for chips, cracks, or other damage to the crystal. While inclusions are natural, external damage can reduce value.
- Consider Lighting. View the specimen under various lighting conditions (natural light, direct light, diffused light) to fully appreciate the inclusions and their interaction with the quartz.
