Where to find Lithium Quartz

Collecting tips
- Geological Context. Focus your search in areas known for granitic pegmatites, especially those that are lithium-rich. Look for outcrops of pegmatite dikes or veins.
- Associated Minerals. Lithium Quartz is often found alongside other pegmatite minerals such as feldspar, mica (including lepidolite), tourmaline (especially elbaite), beryl, and other quartz varieties.
- Color and Inclusions. Look for quartz crystals or masses with a distinct pink, lavender, or purplish hue that appears to be caused by internal cloudiness or visible flecks/fibers, rather than a uniform, translucent color like typical rose quartz.
- Hardness Test. As quartz, it will scratch glass and steel (Mohs hardness 7). This helps distinguish it from softer minerals.
