Collecting tips
- Look in Waterways. Riverbanks, stream beds, and lake shores are prime locations for finding pebbles due to the natural sorting and rounding action of water.
- Check Coastal Areas. Beaches, especially those with rocky shores, often have abundant pebbles shaped by wave energy.
- Examine Construction Sites. Areas where gravel is used for landscaping or construction may contain interesting pebbles, though these are often sourced from quarries.
- Visit Geological Outcrops. Look for conglomerate rock formations, which are essentially ancient, lithified pebble beds. Weathering of these formations can release individual pebbles.
