Collecting tips
- Look in Sedimentary Environments. Search in areas with chert beds, ancient lakebeds, or marine sedimentary sequences where silica precipitation was common.

- Examine Riverbeds and Gravel Pits. Jasper is durable and often transported by water, so riverbeds, stream gravels, and alluvial deposits can be good places to find tumbled pieces.
