- Specific Gravity Test. Cubic Zirconia has a specific gravity of 5.6-6.0, significantly higher than diamond (3.52) and glass (2.4-2.8). This can be a useful, non-destructive test.
- Refractive Index. Cubic Zirconia has a refractive index of 2.15-2.18, while glass varies (around 1.5-1.7). Diamond has a refractive index of 2.42. A refractometer can differentiate these, though it requires specialized equipment.
